Donald - Adoption Pending!
Donald was named after the shelter director, Dixie Donald, who came to the aid of the 50 dogs rescued from the hoarding situation. Estimated to be 1.5 years old, Donald weighs about 75 lbs and is a very majestic-looking boy. He has the look of a Golden Retriever/ St Bernard mix with his stunning coat and coloring.
Donald enjoys being outside but wants to have his human there beside him. He likes to fetch balls and sniff in all the wonderful scents the outside world has to offer. Like Pluto and Mickey, Donald walks nicely on the leash, thanks to the shelter director who took the trio under her wings to ready them for their forever homes. Donald is fine with other dogs and keeps his kennel clean. He is a chill kind of guy with an old soul. He was terrified when he first arrived at our vet clinic but has come around nicely in the couple of weeks that he has been with us.
Donald has been vaccinated, neutered, and micro-chipped. He is heartworm negative and will be ready to head north in mid-July to be adopted. Donny may require extra TLC as he settles into his new home as we expect him to be shy until he feels secure. He grabs your heart and is so worth the time he may need. If you would like to be part of Donald’s rescue story and are approved to adopt through SGRR, contact Donna Toncic at SunshineGoldens@gmail.com to be considered to adopt this beautiful boy. If not yet approved, please fill out an application to be considered. Donald will be coming north to be directly adopted in mid-July.
Rescued dogs come with a range of needs - from behavioral to emotional to medical. When approved applicants adopt such dogs, they agree to continue the rehabilitation we have begun.
