Settling in; she's great with Pan. Pan seems to like her but she's got jet lag. We walked down on the Farmington River yesterday (our usual spot) and I just let her meander with a 30 foot leash. Patches is having lots of fun. I took her to the pet store on the weekend. She had a blast and found a toy that she took up to the register. We visited the park last night and she keeps me company in the yard when I'm doing various chores - mowing, weeding, clean up, etc. She's been great and has now decided she loves to be in the yard, in the truck, or along for any adventure. ~K Arnold Katie

Venus adores the boys. Her tail is always wagging but when one of the boys is near, it wags much faster. She always checks in on them during the night. Venus can’t figure out what exactly a TV is. Bella had her first experience in the lake. She was quite surprised that she could not swim after she tried to follow Oscar after a tennis ball. Her head ended up under water and I thought I'd have to go in after her but she recovered on her own. She loves the water but has not learned to swim! ~Ray & Sue Mollie

Mollie is doing great. We can't imagine our life without her already. We have not left her alone yet (between all our schedules she won't be alone during the next 2 weeks until we are sure she won't get stressed over it) she seems to feel right at home. Mollie enjoys her walks and gets along nicely with the other dogs in our neighborhood dog walking group. We all had a wonderful day! Johnny loved his ribs and walking in the field with Jeb and me. When I handed him his first rib he looked at me like he was saying "Really, for me?" He loves attention and is so very sweet! I can just tell by looking at him and the way he acts that he has such a good heart and such a very gentle soul. To say the least it is love at first sight! I think Buster is really happy as he has not stopped wagging his tail since he got off the transport! He so handsome and a very good boy! Nick is doing really well. He is such a sweetheart - so friendly and affectionate! He warmed up to us almost immediately after coming off of the transport truck. His skin was a little itchy and flaky so we brushed him and gave him a bath with some soothing oatmeal shampoo. He looks great after his home grooming! Nick walks surprisingly well on the leash. He heels nicely and doesn't pull. While we already know how much he loves his ball, we found out that he likes almost any toy as long your throw it so he can retrieve it. As I'm typing this Nick is laying on his doggy bed at my feet. After a long day of playing and exploring he is tired out! I think he will sleep well tonight. I wanted to thank you and all of the SGRR volunteers for all of your work and for helping bring Nick into our lives. I think Nick knows that he has found his forever home! - the Wilkos family Honey

What a wonderful dog! Fantastic disposition, very friendly and smart. Knows basic commands and is good in the house. We had a bath, no problem. He went into his crate about 9pm last night by himself to sleep. He did chase the cat a few times so we are working on that, but otherwise he's been great. Even walks well on a lead. So many of you have followed the story of Wendy - from the time she went to to her foster family in February through the recent updates that we post on the website. Last week, we got an email from her foster mom, and we are so happy to say that Wendy is ADOPTED! As you may have suspected from the day we discussed fostering Wendy we would be another foster failure and adopt her. You were right. I want to keep her so she can continue her steps forward in a consistent environment. The few days alone with me and the other dogs gave her some confidence skills. Now to get her ok with others. She is still very fearful and shuts down especially near men, but after lots of reading and researching puppy mill breeder dogs, I am hopeful that this will get better in time. She lets me know she doesn't like when I leave the house by leaving me a "present" in the kitchen. Not to sound ungrateful, but no gifts please! She didn't like the classical music, so now I'm trying leaving the cooking channel or animal planet on TV.
