The Morris Foundation
Sadly, over 60% of Golden Retrievers will develop cancer during their lifetime. The Morris Foundation, a well-known animal health research organization, has created the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study, an observational investigation which examines cancer and other canine diseases in Goldens.
Researchers will follow 3,000 golden retrievers from puppyhood to the end of their lives. For inclusion in the study, the golden must be under 2 years of age and in possession of a three-generation pedigree. For more information go to http://www.caninelifetimehealth.org.
