Honey - Adoption Pending!

Relinquished to our rescue with the last group of dogs from the backyard breeder in MS, Honey is now officially retired! She is a little shy, but full of sweetness, and she loves attention more and more each day.
In between her stay at the vet's office for heartworm treatment, Honey spent time in one of our southern foster homes. It was there that Honey learned how comfy it feels to lay on a soft couch and nap without a care in the world. She is blossoming into a lovely dog who will be so happy to be part of someone's life. A home that is somewhat quiet, possibly with another calm dog for company, will be best for our Honey-bunny. Foster mom, Cheryl, shared that Honey is a good eater and frequently wags her tail. She is crate-trained and has learned to go potty outside. Honey enjoys being outside in the fenced-in yard where she can sniff to her heart's delight while finding just the right spot to do her business.
Honey gets along with all the dogs she has met (check out her video with Gryffin) and loves her stuffed toys. She walks nicely on a leash; for a dog who never wore a collar or saw a leash this is a huge accomplishment!
This purebred beauty is estimated to be about 3-5 years old - just the right age and past the stage of over-the-top puppy energy. Honey is now spayed, vaccinated, and micro-chipped. Since she tested positive for heartworms she has been under treatment and is almost ready for her forever home. She has been given a Proheart 6 injection for heartworm prevention so Honey will not need any additional HW preventatives for 6 months.
If you are approved to adopt through SGRR, have a quiet home, and your specialty is TLC, please contact Cheryl to be considered to adopt Honey. If not yet approved, please fill out an application. Honey should be ready to travel north to her forever home in early August.
Rescued dogs come with a range of needs - from behavioral to emotional to medical. When approved applicants adopt such dogs, they agree to continue the rehabilitation we have begun.
