Luna

Luna is a stunning (almost) 3-year-old Chocolate Lab (birthday 4/27/22) who is in need of an active forever home. Taken in from a family who could no longer care for Luna, she has lived with her current family for the past 1.5 years. However, with 6 kids and their activities, farm animals, and other dogs in the household, this kind family has found they do not have the time that Luna deserves and asked us to help find Luna a forever home.
The family shares, "Luna is probably the friendliest dog we’ve ever met. She is very loyal and full of energy. She LOVES to swim, it’s her favorite thing. She is good with other dogs and has been exposed to dogs her size and smaller dogs the size of a mini poodle. She is good with cats and she is good with kids - we have six, ages 3-14!" Luna likes to be included in the family's activities and if left outside on her own, she will bark to be let back in. She is a very people-oriented girl who loves to play and also loves to snuggle. Take a look at Luna's video.
With 6 kids and many family obligations to focus on, Luna needs a bit of fine-tuning on things like leash-walking and jumping up. At 63 lbs, she is very food motivated so training should come along readily to this girl who is both smart and eager-to-please. Luna rides nicely in the car and knows the commands sit, lay down, and shake.
Luna has been well-cared-for and is up-to-date on vaccination, is spayed, heartworm negative, and microchipped. If you are approved to adopt through SGRR, are home most of the day, and have an active life-style, please contact Cheryl to be considered to adopt this wonderful girl. If you are not yet approved, visit our website to fill out an application! Luna is being fostered in the northeast and would love to be in her forever home for her birthday on 4/27!
Rescued dogs come with a range of needs - from behavioral to emotional to medical. When approved applicants adopt such dogs, they agree to take on whatever comes with the dog. It is up to YOU to continue the rehabilitation we have begun. This is what it means to rescue.
