Rudy - Adoption Pending!
We can all use a bit of yummy chocolate in our lives, right? Well then, meet Rudy, the most luscious Chocolate Lab to come to our rescue in a long time! This stunning boy was picked up as a stray in the Florida Panhandle area. We were baffled that no one came forward to claim this hunky fellow but we are more than happy to help Rudy find his forever home.
Rudy spent time in a foster home in the south and the foster mom shared that he is a real lover-boy who thinks he's a lapdog. He is happy to jump up on the couch with you for a good snuggle! Like most Labs, this boy is friendly toward humans and canines alike, though cats proved to be a bit too interesting for Rudy. The typical Lab bonds with the whole family and is an enthusiastic athlete that requires exercise like walking or hiking, and marathon games of fetch. Rudy is no exception... he loves to retrieve and play with balls and toys. These activities will help keep both Rudy and his adopter physically and mentally fit throughout the winter months. While he could use some fine-tuning on his leash walking skills, is a wonderful dog and is just waiting for his forever family to find him!
Rudy is estimated to be about 3 years old, weighs about 65 lbs and is a handsome, hunky fellow who is a sucker for attention and belly rubs. Rudy is heartworm negative, has been neutered, brought up-to-date on vaccinations, and is micro-chipped. He received a Proheart 6 injection for heartworm prevention so he will not need any additional HW preventative for 6 months. Rudy will come north in late December-early January to be directly adopted.
If you are approved to adopt through SGRR, please contact Cheryl to be considered to adopt this scrumptious boy. If not yet approved, please fill out an application to be considered.
Rescued dogs come with a range of needs - from behavioral to emotional to medical. When approved applicants adopt such dogs, they agree to take on whatever comes with the dog. It is up to YOU to continue the rehabilitation we have begun. This is what it means to rescue.
