Shadrach - Adoption Pending!

Named after the Biblical character from the book of Daniel, Shadrach is ready to meet his new family! Found roaming in a small town in Alabama, he was brought to the local vet's office by kind neighbors who were able to corral Shaddy. Thinking someone must be missing the wonderfully sweet boy, the office tried desperately to find his owner to no avail. Don't worry, little buddy, we at SGRR will find you a loving forever home!
Shadrach has the face of a purebred Golden Retriever. In fact, when we were sent pictures of this boy, we had to ask, "Is that the same dog?" What makes this cutie pie a real show-stopper are those adorable Basset Hound style of legs! Seriously, could he be any cuter?
Shaddy is estimated to be about 2 years old. He is full grown and weighs about 45 lbs. He loves to run around and play. He would do well with a physically fenced yard or in a home where he would get nice long walks. He walks pretty well on a leash and rides nicely in the car. Shaddy keeps his kennel clean, a good sign that he is house-broken, and doesn't tear up his bedding or toys. This low-rider is good with other dogs but has no known history with cats. Mostly, Shaddy loves his humans and cannot wait to go home!!
Shaddy is microchipped, neutered, and up-to-date on vaccinations. He has been treated for heartworm and received a Proheart 6 injection so he will not need any additional heartworm preventative for 6 months. He will be headed north from AL in mid-to-late March to be directly adopted.
If you are approved to adopt through SGRR, are home most of the day, and have a somewhat active life-style, and a sense of humor, please contact Cheryl to be considered to adopt this wonderful fellow. If you are not yet approved, visit our website to fill out an application! This pup will not be available for long so be quick to get your inquiries in!!
Rescued dogs come with a range of needs - from behavioral to emotional to medical. When approved applicants adopt such dogs, they agree to take on whatever comes with the dog. It is up to YOU to continue the rehabilitation we have begun. This is what it means to rescue.
