Tillie - Adoption Pending!
Due to her overwhelming popularity, we are no longer accepting new applications for Tillie. We thank you for your interest and hope another SGRR dog will touch your heart.
Tillie is a happy, affectionate 1-year old Golden Retriever. She loves to snuggle with people, to play, and to go for walks in neighborhoods or on wooded trails. She greets people enthusiastically each morning, wagging her whole body, and leans in for loving attention during quiet times. Her tail does a gentle wag just as she is dozing off for a nap.
Tillie is a petite Golden Retriever at 52 pounds, and has a young dog’s delight in playing with rope toys, thrown balls, or her Kong. She is initially shy around new animals and people, but warms quickly. She loves water play, gleefully enjoying dips in a creek and relaxing in it to cool off. This beautiful girl will keep revealing her unique personality as she gets comfortable in a new home.
Tillie was rescued from a puppy mill this summer, and has been in good hands with a foster family while awaiting her permanent home. Her foster mom shares that “Tillie is a happy girl – timid at first but now runs to us for snuggles or play. She loves frolicking with other dogs, especially if she can get them to chase her or into a gentle tug with a rope toy. She is respectful of our cats, and we expect would do well in a home with a kitty or another canine companion to play with.” (Check out a video with her kitty friend!)
Tilie is microchipped, spayed, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. She received a Proheart-6 injection in June that provides six months of heartworm prevention. Her foster family reports “Tillie is a good eater at mealtimes. She isn’t afraid of having her ears cleaned or nails trimmed, and enjoys treats while doing so. She behaves well on leashed walks, is interested in the wildlife around here, and always has her ears perked!”
If you are approved to adopt through SGRR, please contact Donna to be considered to adopt Tillie. Rescued dogs need TLC: When applicants adopt these animals, they agree to continue the rehabilitation and training we have begun. Tillie is presently in a foster home in Western Massachusetts, and now is the time for her to find her permanent home and to know what it is to be a cherished companion.
