Another beautiful/handsome dog. This is Ranger who was found wandering just as Hurricane Sally was about to strike land in AL. A kind woman found Ranger and kept him safe until a foster home was found for him. Although no one came looking for Ranger he has a wonderful new home with Linda and Ben.
Linda tells us that Ranger is doing great! He loves everyone and is a very loved member of their family, It took him a few weeks to settle in, as he was just perpetually excited! But now he has calmed down and is truly a good boy. Ranger has completed his basic obedience training and learns very quickly. He loves to go for walks and loves cuddles on the couch while chewing one of his bully sticks. He still likes to go in his crate when he needs a nap! He has gained ten pounds and a couple of inches. They had his DNA tested and learned that while he looks like a golden he is actually part lab and part grand Pyrenees. They are grateful to everyone at SGRR for helping to make Ranger a member of their family! Happy life to Ranger, he looks quite comfortable!

How handsome is Bodhi, Bodhi (fka Sparky) who was brought to an animal shelter in Watumpka, AL. Bodhi is making his forever home with Steve and both Steve and Bodhi are very happy!
Steve tells us that Bodhi is doing very well! He is shy with people, loves the dog park, has great behavior, he sometimes barks but he is getting better as they are working on it. He is healthy, he eats well and enjoys his treats. Steve is hoping for a companion for Bodhi maybe in a couple of months! Happy life to Bodhi, he deserves it! This beauty is Zoie who was very loved in her previous home but sadly her former owner could no longer afford her care. Zoie is in her forever home with Patricia who loves her very much! Patricia tells us that Zoie is doing great! She loves everyone including Patricia's grand dog. Zoie is doing much better in not jumping up and Patricia tells people to turn their back on them if she tries. Zoie has settled in very well. Her leash skills need some work as she is very strong and pulls but Patricia said that they will get there! Zoie loves Pat's grandson who comes over to slide down her hill in the snow and Zoie runs after him and chases him down the hill, it is hilarious to watch! Zoie is very active and she loves her bed and all her toys. Happy life to Zoie, and good job to Pat for working on her training! This is Henry FKA Ralphie who ended up as a stray at the Mobile County Animal Shelter, and although no one came to claim Henry he has a wonderful new home with Colleen, Dennis, their family and Boba FKA SGRR Nova!
Henry has did not have an easy early life, he is undergoing heartworm treatment. When they did x-rays they found multiple buckshots and bb's embedded into his tissue. There are too many and too deep, although he seems unaffected by them. Colleen says it gives her insight into his previous life as a stray. When they first got him he was toy and food possessive, but now she would say he is much better with training and those behaviors are almost completely eliminated, and he is very responsive to training. Henry is great with Boba and their cats. Henry and Boba are almost always together. When she took Henry to the vet Boba laid by the backdoor until they get home. Boba is a very laid back dog and very calming for Henry. Colleen cannot get over how smart Henry is. He is very quick on learning commands and very easy to train. He is a pro on their walks and hikes. He safely learned all the safety rules that Colleen trained him on safe leash walking! They are keeping him quiet now with chew toys until he can go on runs with them! These two are just adorable! Henry deserves the best loving home and we think he has found it! This is Cooper FKA Big Al, who had been seen on the highway for a couple of weeks in Alabama. One day he was hit by a car (not seriously), the woman who hit him stayed with him until she got help. They think Cooper was dumped in that area and was waiting for his owner to come back and get home. Well Cooper has a wonderful new forever home with Elena and Carl and they just love him!
Elena and Carl tell us that Cooper has been a wonderful addition to their home and family! Cooper has the best disposition of any dog they have ever seen. He is loving, playful and very friendly. Everyone that comes to meet Cooper are amazed with his good nature and his striking good looks. When they go to Pet Smart the people there say that Cooper is most handsome dog that comes in! Happy life to Cooper, you deserve the best life! How cute is Bauer! Bauer was displaced in rural Louisiana during Hurricane Sally, and although no one came to claim Bauer, he has a wonderful new home with Tristan, Brenda and Jeff and living in Massachusetts.
Tristan tells us that Bauer is doing amazing. He is eating well and he is behaving much better when they first got him. They cannot believe someone would abandon him because he has been such a good boy for them. He gets along great with Kopitar(their other dog) and they love to run around and chase each other in the backyard! They have been training Bauer in their own home and Bauer picks up on things very quickly. They plan on taking both dogs to training in the spring. Bauer loves going on walks and does really good on the leash until he sees a squirrel. He is every energetic and runs laps in the backyard multiple times per day to get his energy out! They are so happy that Bauer has become part of their family! Happy life to Bauer, he looks so happy! How happy does Chloe look! Chloe was picked up as a stray in Alabama and although no one came to claim her she has a fabulous new home with Joe and family and living in Massachusetts.
Joe tells us that simply Chloe is doing great! She is very healthy, well behaved and most importantly a great addition to their family. She has added to her group of friends and loves to chase them around the yard. Their next door neighbor stops by most days to say hello! Joe and Chloe go for a 3-4 mile walk most days and Chloe has many friends along the path that she says hello to. Chloe also has converted two people who were self proclaimed cat people, and afraid of dogs into true friends. One quote from one of them, "I was always afraid of dogs but she is so sweet and gentle". How nice is that, good girl Chloe!!!! Chloe is a grazer for good, which is different for them as their other dogs would finish their bowl as soon as they would put it down, Chloe picks through it through out the day and the vet says she is very healthy! They could not be any happier with her, and she seems to be very happy with them also! Joe would also like to thank everyone at SGRR for what we do! Happy life to Chloe, she looks so happy! The last picture is of Chloe and her friend Cooper! So cute!! |
